This program gave me an opportunity to improve my English language skills, allowing me to make strides toward my personal and career goals. Esas Sosyal, the social investment division of Esas Holding, established in 2000 by the late Şevket Sabancı and his family, and now a prominent investment group in Türkiye, has been creating sustainable and quantifiable impact on youth and employment since 2015. Our mission is to empower young individuals to launch their professional careers as well-qualified, self-confident, and socially conscious individuals. This program, which has received over 15,000 applications to date, is particularly dedicated to offering employment opportunities to young people who face inequalities in their transition to the workforce due to graduating from lesser-known universities.
GYİAD’s “Youth Labor Market in Türkiye and Outlook” Survey, sponsored by Esas Holding in 2020, found that approximately one-third of the university graduate respondents spoke no foreign languages or only had basic skills. On the other hand, 35% of the respondents defined their foreign language levels as “intermediate.”
To get to the bottom of this problem and develop a solution model to the inequality of opportunity that many young people face today, we launched the Hayırlı Sabancı English Chance Program for university students. After educating 150 students in the first term, 200 in the second, and 250 in the third term, the English language program will expand in scope and accommodate 500 young people in the new term starting in April.

Esas Sosyal, the social investment division of Esas Holding, combines the corporation’s responsible citizenship approach with the vision of the late Şevket Sabancı and his family to give back to society. Esas Sosyal stands as a unique example of the globally adopted social impact investment approach in Türkiye and aims to create joint solutions to social issues.
In pursuit of this objective, Esas Sosyal has developed the Şevket Sabancı First Chance, Hayırlı Sabancı English Chance, and Alumni Programs, based on joint studies and research on youth and employment. To execute these programs, launched as a solution model for unemployment among educated youth, Esas Sosyal mobilizes a broad ecosystem of 4,000 people, including corporate and in-kind supporters, program participants, mentors, alumni, NGO leaders, human resources professionals, and trainers.
Guided by the belief that investing in the youth equates to an investment in both the present and the future, we identified youth employment as our primary area of social investment. With this overarching vision, we launched the Şevket Sabancı First Chance Program in 2016 to facilitate the transition of young graduates from lesser-known state universities into the workforce and the Hayırlı Sabancı English Chance Program in 2020. Driven by its motto “Esas Sosyal Creates Equal Opportunity” and committed to its mission, Esas Sosyal has so far given 900 young graduates a chance to benefit from equal opportunities.
Young people who received English language education for 12 months talk about how the program contributed to their development, how it impacted their lives, and how they benefited from their learnings in interviews and during their transition to professional life.

Evet. Katılımcıların Hayırlı Sabancı Desteğiyle İngilizce Fırsatım Programı’ndan mezun olabilmesi ve Program kapsamında sağlanan diğer gelişim fırsatlarından yararlanabilmeleri için 3 kur eğitimin tamamına katılmaları ve kurlarda başarılı olmaları gerekmektedir.
Tüm kur eğitimleri online canlı sınıflarda gerçekleşecektir.
Hayırlı Sabancı Desteğiyle İngilizce Fırsatım Programı, Esas Holding’in sosyal yatırım birimi olan Esas Sosyal’in hayata geçirdiği bir programdır. Sosyal fayda yaratmayı amaçlayan Program kapsamında katılımcılardan herhangi bir ücret talep edilmeyecektir.
Hayırlı Sabancı Desteğiyle İngilizce Fırsatım Programı, Berlitz iş birliği ile yürütülmektedir. Ders içerikleri Berlitz’in dil eğitimi kurları esas alınarak devam etmekte ve dersler anadili İngilizce olan Berlitz eğitmenleri tarafından verilmektedir. Her kurda katılımcılar duyma, konuşma, okuma ve kelime bilgilerini geliştiren aktiviteler yapmaktadırlar. Aktivite yapılan konular, hayatın içinden konular olup bu konular gramer yapılarına uyarlanarak verilmektedir. Bu sayede katılımcılar için ezberden uzak bir sistem yaratılarak İngilizce gramerini, aktif bir şekilde konuşarak ve uygulayarak öğrenmeleri hedeflenmektedir. Bu metot aynı zamanda katılımcının İngilizce konuşma yeteneklerinin kalıcı olmasını sağlamaktadır.
Her kurda katılımcıların toplam 3 gün devamsızlık hakkı vardır. Mücbir sebepler dışında 3 günden fazla devamsızlık yapan katılımcının programla ilişkisi sonlandırılmaktadır.
Berlitz sisteminde telafi dersi yoktur. Öğrencinin 3 günden fazla katılamamasını gerektirecek bir sağlık problemi olduğu taktirde; öğrenci mevcut kurundan alınıp başka bir kur planlamasına dahil edilir.
Dersler haftada 2 gün ve günde 2,5 saat olduğu için katılımcıların vize ve final programlarını zorlamayacaktır.
Programa başlamadan önce, katılımcıların mevcut İngilizce seviyesi Berlitz’in 2 aşamadan oluşan seviye tespit sınavı ile belirlenecektir. Katılımcıların, ilk aşamada online bir sınav ve ikinci aşamada Berlitz eğitmenleri ile konuşma testine girmeleri gerekmektedir. 2 aşamalı değerlendirmenin sonucuna göre katılımcının eğitime başlayacağı kur belirlenecektir.
Programa kabul edilen katılımcılar her kurun sonunda Berlitz’in gerçekleştireceği online sınavlara girecekler. Kur başarısı, öğretmenlerden gelen sınıf içi performans notu ve online sınav sonucuna göre değerlendirilecektir.

Evet, Berlitz tarafından programı başarıyla tamamlayan katılımcılara sertifika verilecektir.
Evet. Katılımcılar hem eğitim programını tamamladıklarında Berlitz’den hem de Hayırlı Sabancı Desteğiyle İngilizce Fırsatım’ı tamamladıkları için Esas Sosyal’den Hayırlı Sabancı ve Emine Sabancı Kamışlı imzalı katılım sertifikası almaya hak kazanacaktır.
Her kur sonunda ayrı etkinlikler gerçekleştirilecektir. Bu etkinlikler, gençleri üniversite mezuniyeti sonrası iş hayatına hazırlayacak eğitimler, söyleşiler ve çeşitli koçluklar olacaktır.
